Spring Has Sprung!

Spring has sprung in our neck of the woods and the flowers are starting to bloom!

Speaking of flowers...I want to hear how you store your flowers?

I had all my florals in clear shoeboxes until a week ago when I came across this find...A Recollections Clear Tote (with dividers). I managed to get my large, disorganized pile of florals into 2 of these...color coded.

What are you using to store your florals? I would love to hear!

Pirate Paper to the rescue...

Completing some pictures to put in our Family 2013 album, I found myself looking through my stash for some 'nautical' type paper.

Low and behold, I came across this old Karen Foster Kit I had picked up at Hobby Lobby years ago...probably 2008. I remember I had purchased it as an extra kit, for a pirate layout, from a trip we had taken in 2007. During that trip we had stayed in a hotel with the pool decorated in a pirate theme, so OF COURSE I took lots of pictures.

Well fast-forward to Summer 2013, and here we were visiting friends on the east coast. Ah ha...the perfect reason to break out the pirate kit and mix in a bunch of other stuff from my stash!

Both of these layouts are from our trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. In the bottom layout, I applied crackle medium to the gold coin paper to make them appear more like real coins.

At the bottom of the layout I staggered the coins with some fishing stickers that were in my stash!
Sadly, I have STILL not reached the end of the Pirate Kit!

Spring Kitchen Rejuvenation

I finally got the mojo in me to update my kitchen this past week!

Above is the BEFORE. I love these blues and didn't want to stray too far.
I also wanted to bring in the shelves in the left hand corner that we had added after the kitchen was installed!

TA DA...above is the AFTER! I expanded the blue in a lighter shade all through the kitchen and above the cabinets. It really makes the room look a lot bigger and brighter!

I also added some new d├ęcor items above the cupboards to give the room a little update. And I added the chocolate brown and turquoise baskets and clear canisters with stainless lids. (I thought this was a good way to disguise the usual kitchen junk) LOL!

In the corner I decided to add some JAZZ. A new colorful salad bowl and platter! The salad tongs I already had and thought they add a little pop in the new bowl.

Thanks for looking ladies! This was a fun and rewarding project!
